Ok I feel like people here have great restaurant recs plus know which owners are dicks - both super helpful.

So where would you go for a fun Friday night dinner? Group of us in our 30s, I have a baby so I don’t get out much. Mid-priced-ish - like hoping to spend $150/couple including a few drinks. I’m thinking Dolores - maybe Bayberry - but other ideas?

What type of food do you like? What type of atmosphere? For a fun partyish vibe and good food troop is pretty cool but definitely not extra fancy, lots of music and it's a cool spot. Bayberry garden I haven't been to since the summer but when I went a couple times it was more about the ambiance just being nice rather than energetic. Maybe cav? Good food, wicked interesting place, great staff but again not super energetic, people won't be getting up out of their seats to dance or anything. Rogue island is more intimate not fancy but had awesome cocktails and beer list, plus a few cool bars for after dinner nearby. bayberry beer hall similar and you can pop over to moniker after.

Something a bit unique food wise would be great! As long as their are no pretzel bites or fried chicken sandwiches on the menu I’d be happy (basically all I ever see at kid friendly suburban spots). Maybe Los Andes?!

Never been to los Andes ( blasphemy in this sub, I know) mokban is also a cool place to go with unique food and it's a bit louder than most, y shabu shabu is hot pot and I've heard good things

Dolores is always bumping and fun, more of an all night spot bc the food takes a minute. Nothing a margarita pitcher can’t solve!

Bacaro (pricey but $150/couple is definitely doable), Palo, Red Stripe, Waterdog in Warrem

Bayberry is pretty meh and overpriced, and I don't think they do drinks except beer. Some of my favorites are Al Forno, Avenue N, Den Den, Pizzico, Persimmon, Rosalina, The District, Julians, Nick's on Broadway. Further out, The Aviary in Swansea and Bywater and Revival in Warren.

Saje is super good! Downstairs is a normal restaurant/bar, but upstairs is a lounge. Tell them it's your birthday and you get a fun surprise 😁 Marcelino's is also good for groups. Both have lots of small plates/tapas, so it's fun. I've heard that new place Ceviches is good too.

Just tired of seeing people post the same places! Try something new!

I just really love Palo. They do great work there and are unpretentious about it.
