Where’s a good place to get breakfast on Mondays? It seems like everywhere is closed for some reason. My husband works nights so breakfast for us is usually around 1pm.

If we want to go on Sundays, we head to Billie Ann’s in Cecil. But they’re closed on Mondays. The Dor-Stop closes at 1pm now…they used to be open till 3 but we found that out the hard way. Ma & Pop’s Country Kitchen in Bethel is closed on Mondays.

We live in Peters Township if that helps with an area. Don’t want to go near downtown or the Strip District or anything like that.

so you want breakfast in the afternoon and you aren't willing to go to the parts of the city with the highest density of dining options?

Deluca's in Robinson I guess?

I hate going into the city. Doing it for work is enough lol. Plus, the parking sucks.

that's your prerogative! my point was that you are definitely missing out on some good spots (Cafe Moulin in Shadyside comes to mind!) by imposing that restriction

They sound pretty basic and probably don't care if the food is even good.

I only go to restaurants for breakfast. I’m not a big fan of lunch or dinner out. Don’t know how that makes me “basic”, but I’m not a foodie.

Moulin is overrated and their service is slow. I'd much rather go to a diner like Dorstop or Delucas

Head to Central Diner, that place is great

My vote for best all around restaurant in Robinson, everything is always excellent.

Try their greek omlette, I believe the owners are Greek and make their own tzatziki and it's the best I've ever had.

We used to go there a lot and I don’t think we’ve been there in 6 months or so. Should definitely start going back.

Pamelas is open everyday. Good spot. But, my fav has to be Ineffable Caphe.

Edit: Nevermind. Just saw you were not talking about Pittsburgh.

I think there’s a Pamela’s in Mt Lebanon. I’ve been to the one in the Strip before and it was pretty good.

You’re missing out on cafe Raymond it’s fantastic, the bbq brisket hash is amazing. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, brisket, bbq sauce

I guess I should have put on here that I only like breakfast food lol. Like I just get eggs, bacon, and toast. Sometimes a hash brown. As long as it’s a clean restaurant and it has non-fancy breakfast and I don’t have to go downtown then I’m happy.

Bartram House? First Watch near South Hills Village, or the new Waffles Inc. in USC

InevitablePersimmon6 OP t1_j6lusaf wrote

We tried First Watch before but I’m not big into the boujee food. Like I don’t need parsley or whatever o my eggs.

Does Bartram House have breakfast food? I just remember them making baked goods from frozen dough when I went to one years ago.

Key-Most9498 t1_j6n6ykg wrote

Their website says they have an all-day breakfast menu.

Nancy's in Wilkinsburg or GTFO.

Does this place live up to the hype? I still haven’t been. I often go to Lincoln’s P&G diner in Millvale for a frame of reference. Worth the drive to Wilkinsburg from the Northside?

GargantuanWitch t1_j6nd8n1 wrote

It's about as classic diner as I can find near me, and that's what I want. Nice big pancakes, good bottomless coffee, eggs done just right. It's not fancy and doesn't try to be, but it's definitely a regular spot for a lot of people.

Is that the place that was on Restaurant Impossible on Food Network once?

1

GargantuanWitch t1_j6ndnta wrote

I doubt it. I think that was Del's, and Kitchen Nightmares did one but it was for the soul food place.

2

InevitablePersimmon6 OP t1_j6nfnm0 wrote

I remember Del’s. I used to work at CHP in Lawrenceville and when they filmed that the streets over there were chaos since Del’s was close.

I get up between 9 or 10 usually since I work till 11pm. My husband works till 3am (or some days 7am) so he sleeps till noon usually. But I’ll look that place up!
