We're at a period in history where memes are used in war. What a time to be alive.

memes were always used everywhere.

this is the first time you see memes from the recent years applied into a recent conflict.

Dr. Seuss got in on it all through the war. By today's standards he was the OG Memelord.

Look up "Dr. Seuss Goes to War". It's a neat book.

As a reminder to Germans, Hitler went un-assassinated for 9 years.

Assassinating Putin might not even matter at this point. There are a lot of other hardline politicians who supported this kind of action over many years. Their dissent is that he screwed up the invasion not that he invaded. And the public is brainwashed by state media to support aggression.

Sort of. If you look at the states for under 30 it’s a lot different tho. I would highly recommend finding a website or app that lets you talk to people from different countries.

It’s a lot like the war in Iraq, if you asked a 55 year old at the time there’s a good chance they would support it, if you ask a 25 year old there’s a good chance they don’t.

Its worth a shot.

Worse case scenario, one of the worlds most gigantic assholes would be dead, even if it didn't end the invasion, it would still be a good thing.

yes. lets kill the less capable man so it will be replaced with a more capable one. also lets nake him a martyr.

thats why they didn't kill Hitler

Ahecee t1_j9y6pa8 wrote

Their tanks ran out of fuel in the first push because of decades of corruption in leadership and not actually having the supplies they had on paper, not because their leader didn't know how to rape and kill good enough.

Also, double check your history books there. They tried to kill Hitler many many times, there where multiple teams working on cutting the head off the snake for years.

red4jjdrums5 t1_j9yc8hg wrote

They also came to the realization that it was better to leave him in place because he was too hands-on with all aspects of the war and causing them to be inefficient. When that happened during the timeline of the war, I don’t remember, but they eventually did just leave him go for a while.

There's something viscerally unpleasant about a mangled piece of war machinery that's representative of so much needless death and destruction having a fucking MEME put on top of it.

The sign tells that the tank came from a region close to Mongolia and was taken out in a city close to Kiev, having traveled about 6100KM. It was blown up by an Anti-tank mine.

On the other side of the turret is a sign reading "W Zalinski Square 1" as if it's a street sign.

I wish they wouldn't use Zelenski's name; it paints even more of a target on him and his family.

I almost want to hear less of him, because if we keep hearing more and more, the last piece of news will be of his death. Eventually, Putin's assassins will get him...

I mean, he;s the president of the country, he;s quite a visible person, he's the one going to every summit etc, it's not like the russians might forget about him if we just stay quiet.

i understand your sentiment, don't get me wrong, but please understand that i's not like he can "step back" at this point, it's a bit like bill gates - microsoft or jeff bezos - amazon, they're both not CEO anymore but people still think they are, even after stepping back.

Many in that embassy are just scared shitless for their and their families' lives I imagine. They don't think "good" because this is embarrassing and it may lead to costing them somehow. Most are just trying to stay under the radar and hope this thing ends soon any which way.
