It only shows your close to the curb. We want to see the how you parked to judge for ourselves. Person was probably right. If they thought it deserved a note, it probably did. Welcome to the city

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jd1xiqp wrote

I’ve lived in the city my entire life, one. I was the only car left on the block when I was leaving for work, so taking a picture of my car the other way didn’t make sense to me because what would it have shown? I said a million times in the comments too, I pulled in behind someone, and there was an open space behind me. It was a completely average park job.

The charm was yesterday when an old lady I didn’t recognize banged on my front windows and door for a solid 30 seconds till I opened the front door because she wanted to tell me my chewy package arrived 🥰

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcyii68 wrote

Wait my neighbor would do this a lot when we first moved in three years ago, or she'd take our packages into her house while we were at work and leave a note on her “9/11 Never Forget" post its on our door to let us know she had them. Sweet lady.

SleepinSnorlax t1_jcz69qe wrote

I can’t read well and was super confused. I thought she left a note on your door that said “9/11 never forget” to let you know she had your packages.

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcz7e86 wrote

I just cackled. I definitely could’ve worded it better. They were custom post it’s that said “9/11 Never Forget” around the border and had the twin towers in the corner. She must have thousands

I have worked in port Richmond for over 20 years. Ten years or so back I was at the target, grocery shopping and talking to my wife on the phone. I mush have been moving slowly through the isle, because a woman behind me said “out of my way, fa$&@t.” I was shocked and stood there for a minute. Before I could respond, she said “you heard me fa$&@t” and walked by me.

Charming people, the Port Richmond folks.

Fuck that…. To be fair, I do suspect this to be one of my 80 year old neighbors lol

17

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcy7cpr wrote

To clarify I parked in the same spot that I always do, on the tiny side street next to my house. I was literally an inch from the curb lined up with the car in front of me, and enough room behind me for another car.

I’ll post a picture of the park job, but my nut ass neighbor just slashed someone’s tires for parking too close to the curb last week. It’s a lose lose.

17

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcyso31 wrote

Yes!! I woke up in the middle of the night and my window was open, I heard a woman outside crying and telling the cops everything. The two tires on the side of the curb were slashed. We don’t know for sure who it was, but we have our suspicions.

thehoagieboy t1_jcyrsih wrote

How close were you to the other cars? Any signs you were ignoring?

1

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcyscbq wrote

I pulled behind a car, who was parked just as far off the curb as me, and I definitely gave enough room. No one parked behind me until way later in the night.

3

thehoagieboy t1_jcytmxv wrote

I’d guess that another bad parker got the note then and placed it on your car to be funny. I’d do that myself, if I was a bad parker, which I’m not.

Is that what that means? Someone left a green bag of dog poop on my car a few weeks ago, and I had a feeling it was because they didn't like the way I parked. Which for starters I can't figure out why. I was parked normally on the street like everyone else. Maybe I parked in someone's saved spot or something.

This is how I was parked if it makes you feel any better. I drive a compact so there was plenty of room to go around me, park behind me, etc. Someone probably wanted your spot.

38

Sunset_Bleu t1_jcyul2q wrote

Yeah I don't know what that person was thinking. This looks perfectly acceptable to me.

15

SoigneBest t1_jcyilvz wrote

You said you were an inch away from the curb, that ain’t an inch! Lol jk, but seriously though on a side street you need to be closer to the curb

16

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcyirp2 wrote

It’s not the middle of the street like a dickhead either! I’m scared of getting too close because I said it in another comment, my neighbors tires got slashed for parking too close to the curb and got a note too. Also I park in this spot 99% of the time, so I think someone just wants the spot.

12

SoigneBest t1_jcykdgn wrote

Looks like you might be too close to the intersection. If you’re too close there isn’t enough room for people to make the turn

15

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcypy3j wrote

There was an entire spot open behind me, and someone had parked there last night after me.

12

Indiana_Jawns t1_jcyqnes wrote

It's tough to tell from this angle, but I'm guessing that bollard is the further back you can legally be parked. Anything behind it will obstruct turning radiuses and sight lines. If your tail end is too close you're parked illegally, even if there's enough clearance for a car to fit behind you and not be int the intersection itself.

2

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcyrhcd wrote

My car is a super tiny compact, so my car ends before the pole. But people park up against that corner all the time, including big ass trucks. I don’t because I don’t want to get hit.

7

Indiana_Jawns t1_jcysdgb wrote

Fair enough, I'm reacting based on past experience with people who think because they aren't a full foot into the street they're parked legally. It's especially common in Fishtown and Port Richmond.

10

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jcysvq0 wrote

Oh trust me, I’d never 😭 I see it all the time, people who do that must have enough money to not give a shit about their car. I do not, lol!

2

JesusOfBeer t1_jcz4xm8 wrote

Straighten the wheel out… your car could quickly get all sorts of damage if they make contact with your wheel as it’s angled out. We have a couple compact cars where I live and they tend to be the worst offenders of parking to ensure there’s room for everyone. Tbf, the worst offenders tend to have license plates from NJ

4

_jeremybearimy_ t1_jczeeq5 wrote

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you left too much space in front, between the other car. But I've never heard of people getting upset about that here in Philly, and you said someone fit behind you. But that is something people get upset about in places with terrible parking, as if you leave too much space then not as many cars can fit on the block. So it could be that, and the person who left the note has a long car.

Not accusing you or anything, just theorizing here

2

forgottentaco420 OP t1_jczexjn wrote

Unless the person who I parked behind pulled out, which is totally possible, I parked right behind them. But that would totally make sense because it was a large car I parked behind, if a smaller car pulled in it probably looked goofy. When I went out this morning to leave for work my car was the only one left on the block so I’ll never know!!

3

_jeremybearimy_ t1_jczf7up wrote

Ohh ok yah this is my guess then - people left and it resulted in you looking like you just chose a random ass spot on the block. Doesn't really justify the note but hey, notes are a good way for people to get some anger out of their system LOL
