I am not a violent person and will let most things go but these folks are catching my meanest shoulder

Sadly, I’ve noticed better subway etiquette & consideration uptown in the hood when I visit family. As soon as you are in “the city” people act like selfish clueless morons at the doors on every stop!

I lower my shoulder into these people. I call it the “shoulder shuffle.”

Yeah, it amazes me that people don't know this. Don't just walk into an oncoming crowd. Btw, which train was it OP? I'm willing to bet it was the A.

Also elevators!!! So many times I get to a floor and they's someone standing so close to the door that they're literally blocking me from exiting. Ive had enough and just start walking into people. Fuck em.

Preaching to the choir my friend. I feel like so many people just didn't get basic parenting or something. There's an incredible lack of awareness.

ironichaos t1_ivh0xgw wrote

Maybe I should start walking off the train shoulders square instead of turning to the side to appease these people who have no common decency. It also happens in my apartment in the elevator. People just cut in line or get on when I’m trying to get off.

Back when I used to take the subway to my hockey games I would get into position at the door for my stop with my giant bag slung over my back. Then I would use the bag and lean way forward to pull back those people (like a fishing net) trying to jam in before passengers get off. Felt great clearing a path for the others behind me.

Just gotta shove them hard enough like you dont see them so they understand to gtfo. If they ask you what happened be like i was looking at the ground not straight since theres so many people around, i didnt think someone would be so rude and stupid to stand in front of people exiting.

patsw1 t1_ivh0t9w wrote

Amplify it by standing to the side and encourage people to block the doors so the people getting off the train have to push them aside.

Every goddamn time I get off the train to go to my office at York St I am shoulder checking dumb motherfuckers.

GET OUT OF MY WAY.
