Exactly this. I moved to Florida from NJ after 40 years and the number of people who talk shit on both states just proves to me people don’t know $hit half the time.
sammysummer t1_it3o9jp wrote
Because most of the time, they're coming in via EWR and then driving to NYC and thats mostly industrial/business parts. But hey 🤷🏿♀️ We don't need them figuring it out and having more people moving here like that 😅

LOL I've actually offended people with this post saying NJ isn't just city. I've actually been called racist. This country has gone INSANE!

why do ppl from more rural /suburban areas always feel the need to put down the cities? if they’re not for you then just ignore them

I peeped that 👀

because it's just pollution to us too :P the rest of jersey thinks about north jersey what the rest of the country thinks about new jersey as a whole

the suburbs couldn't exist without the pollution coming from the cities; where do you think the gas in your car gets processed, or where the ports and warehouses shipping your goods are located?

Yeah let me take my earring rings off….lololol…as someone who works in newark I honestly don’t think newark is that bad…I mean compare it to colonia and towns bordering superfund sites (Chester area) newark is way better…

Who said it's bad? I just said NJ is more nature than city.

Apparently mentioning that Camden, Paterson, and Newark are not always the nicest or safest places in “racist.”
I used to live in Phillipsburg. Guess what? Its a shithole. And guess what? Its mostly white people that live there.
Not to mention there is crime everywhere even quiet small towns. Its just the kind of crime you dont see or hear much about.

Is there something wrong with Newark ? I like your art but you could’ve just posted it without being classist and anti-Black lol. And I know y’all gone be mad at me for calling it out but it is what it is. Newark is a beautiful city. Camden hasn’t received the funds or energy to be rebuilt however. But neither deserve to be thrown under the bus just to aggrandize your art.

Nice. My Dad,rest his soul, was an artist. Graphic design to keep a roof over our head and water colors, mostly seascapes and lighthouses to express himself. For some reason your work triggered a memory of him. I really love your painting of the birches.

The one bright side of ignorant ass posts like this is it keeps stuck-up white folks out of Newark. Let’s keep it that way because we are building our Black & Brown city up beautifully right now and if people are too bougie to appreciate it then so be it. Y’all can move to JC and Hoboken while we have all the soul right here in Brick City.

> Newark: Unless you’re happy to live in a city with one of the worst unemployment rates in New Jersey, you might want to avoid Newark. The largest city in New Jersey is also one of its most jobless – a massive 11.3% of the population is unemployed. Just to put that in perspective, that’s more than double the US average. Even those lucky enough to have a job aren’t exactly living in style, with most households pulling in the distinctly below-average income of just $35,199 – over $20,000 less than the US average. Crime isn’t quite as bad as it is in some other places, but it still manages to fall within the bottom 5% percent.

Have you ever been? I grew up there and now live in Jersey City. I would rather live in both places and would never consider a suburb where there is nothing to do except drive to mediocre restaurants and boring ass bars.
Newark has the best food in the state, a hub of transportation to get to most places without a car, and fuck you the people are great.
dun-ado t1_it4fwpq wrote
The notion of "best" food only makes sense to the one who makes such a claim. For others, it doesn't mean much other than it's just your opinion.
