Best Beard Trim in New Haven?

I have a really well overgrown beard and wanna get trimmed up. Have tried Skull and Combs and thought it was okay but looking for somewhere else. Anybody have any recommendations for a good beard guy or gal?

Gils Barber. I think it’s technically in Milford (I’m still new here) but it’s a straight drive down Elm street; maybe 10-15 mins from Broadway.

Best haircuts, eyes brows and beard trims I’ve gotten since moving here. The guys I’ve had so far were Oscar and DJ, I can recommend both.

What do you ask for when you go in for a beard trim? I know how to talk about what I want done with my hair but this is new territory for me.

I always tell them to “trim it and clean it up”. I either bring my girlfriend with me to give them better instructions (or to answer them when they say “how’s this?”) or I get my girlfriend to pick pictures out of the length she wants.

I am horrible at all things visual so I rely on my girlfriend to help me out.
