This weekend is my wife’s bday and we have the next few days off. We live in Hudson, NH area so not wanting to drive too far. What are some fun activities we should do/see???

Just to warn you, my husband and I attempted to go to Salem last week. We figured a weekday at the beginning of October wouldn't be too bad. We were wrong. It was completely mobbed and it was impossible to find parking anywhere. The crowds seem to be much worse this year for whatever reason. If you do plan to go, get there very early and expect crowds.

My GF and I went Axe Throwing a few weeks back which was a good time. We went to "Axe Play" in Hudson. Cost is $25/person for an hour. For an extra $10 you get to use a basket of goodies which includes throwing stars, saw blades, and a shovel.
Oh I think I’ve seen this play right up the road next to the Pizza King, unless that’s just another axe throwing place. The idea of this brings fear to soul as my luck would be it popping back to kill me haha. But I’m going to check this out! Thank you!

What is this place??? Digging the name
It's a great lunch spot! I recently went and it was $29 (fixed price) you get soup, salad, entree and dessert as well as delicious drinks. A lot of their ingredients come from their garden. They have little shops and beautiful grounds to walk around and check out. You have to call early to get a reservation because the spots fill up quick.

But make sure you eat before you go. Don’t get me wrong, the food is great, but the portions are tiny.
For $11 more you can get 2 entrees which is a nice option. I couldn't finish mine but I did order an entree to go for leftovers.
Check out pulpit rock in Bedford. Short hike to a huge gorge in the ground from the last ice age.
603 Brewery opened in Londonderry right near MB. Apple picking is always a good time. We go to Lull in Hollis. It’s not to far but a nice ride. Keep in mind that Salem MA is going to be very busy this time of year if you don’t like crowds. And happy bday to your wife.
Imho Salem is a horrible tourist trap. Unless you're into the roadside attraction level kitsch skip it (and if you are, you'll love it).
Idea for a solid day: Currier's orchards in Merrimack -- pick some apples, get cider donuts. Head over to The Bistro at LaBelle -- in Amherst for a tour of the winery, tasting, maybe lunch/brunch (may need reservations not sure). Uncanoonucs in Goffstown -- Take a hike up either or both; enjoy some fall colors. Maybe take a picnic lunch up to the top. Head over to a nearby brewery of your choice for a flight or a pint and/or a bite.

Someone mentioned 603 Brewery. If you want to do a little brewery hopping, 603 is close to Daydream, Kelsen, Rockingham, and From the Barrel breweries.
Never had Daydream, but of the others, From the Barrel is the best of the bunch. Great stuff.

Salem in October, especially on the weekends, is insane. Mostly in a bad way. Great place to visit but expect traffic jabs, inflated parking and mobs of people on weekends this month.
