Was recently told by a friend that NH now offers vinyl plate from the DMV, not sure if that is true but you may want to ask where you registrar your car or the DMV themselves

Per the motor vehicle statutes, third party plates aren't permitted without clearance from the head of the DMV:

261:77 Use of Plates. –
Except as provided for nonresidents, no number plates other than those
procured from the department or authorized by the director shall be
displayed on any vehicle so operated.

There's also Saf-C 3210.03, which includes:

  If no location has been
provided by the manufacturer, the registration plates shall be securely
mounted with a bracket or comparable method in a visible location, and
the rear plate shall be illuminated by a white license plate light when
the headlights or parking lights are on;
