I bought this on Blu-ray yesterday because I've been wanting to see it since I first saw the trailer.

This was a pretty fun movie with an actually interesting complex story! Brad Pitt was super good in this! Hell, this an ensemble cast and literally everyone was fucking awesome in it. It's funny that it's only Brad's name on the cover, because most of this cast as an even amount of screen time

>!However idk how I didn't see Ryan Reynolds' cameo in this coming 🤣 and I didn't expect Sandra Bullock to show up, idek how I didn't even recognize her voice because she's talking to Ladybug the whole movie!<

ALSO, I LOVE all of the action scenes, and this movie is jam packed full of em, so anyone who desires something super actiony, they wouldn't be disappointed with this one. None of the action was even taking itself seriously, I mean this is an action comedy, but I appreciated the humorous yet brutal fighting and the slapstick vibes

And Ladybug's gag for being unlucky never got old and they always found clever ways to use said gag.

I wouldn't consider this some masterpiece but it's a fun and creative popcorn flick! I certainly don't regret the Blu-ray purchase

Honestly, she was my least favorite part. Her fight scene was cool and all, but for what little screen time she had, her character was just annoying. The whole “bitch” thing wasn’t funny and felt forced and a little cringey. Not to shit on her at all (she’s a great actress), but I just was not having that character.

9

ToughJuice17 t1_itoirrl wrote

Well there is another complaint, shitty character and she got no screen time. They could and should have given her a bigger and better part. And I'll admit I got a little crush on her and she was the only reason I agreed to watch the movie.

3

Get_Jiggy41 t1_itojlg4 wrote

She’s very, very attractive, so I can’t argue with you on that. But I didn’t even know she was in the movie to begin with, so her not being in it for long didn’t really hurt the film for me. It was simply the character itself. I think it would honestly have been better if the Hornet was actually Karen Fukuhara’s “flight attendant” character. She was quietly featured in multiple scenes and she interacted with just about every major character, so the reveal would have been way more satisfying. Unfortunately, I think the filmmakers tried to subvert our expectations by having a pretty well known actress featured in a bunch of scenes to make us think the attendant was the Hornet. They took a gamble and I don’t think it paid off.

3

ToughJuice17 t1_itokcme wrote

Since I knew she was in it, I knew >!she had to be the Hornet. Since I was waiting for her, I was like "uhhhhh where is she? Oh she has to be the Hornet" Then after the reveal she is pretty much dead.!< But this is all my personal bias.

1

Get_Jiggy41 t1_itokwc8 wrote

That honestly sucks that you knew the reveal was coming. They shouldn’t have advertised her face on the poster and should have just lister her name in the credits at the bottom of the poster. For me personally, the reveal also wasn’t great because I didn’t even know she was in the movie, so when she revealed herself, I was just like: “oh, this isn’t a twist. This is just some random character I had no idea even existed until now.” They definitely should have made the Hornet be Karen Fukuhara, because that would have been a legitimately satisfying reveal. But to be honest, I thought the reveal of the big mascot trying to pull the case away from Brad Pitt early in the movie actually had a point was pretty cool.

This year Maverick and Bullet train brought the fun back to movies. Enough with the multiverses.

I also thought it was awesome. I couldn’t believe the score on RT (not that their opinion is worth much).

Anyone know when it hits streaming (free)?

I literally never look at website scores anymore. I watch reviewers on YT, but that's it.

I liked the movie. it was entertaining and Brad was awesome. the jokes are little internetty same as Deadpool. The action was great and awesome cast. Also a little too CGI-y. B-

I enjoyed it...had a very Tarantino kill Bill type vibe to it.

It was probably the worst movie I've seen all year. It's the kind of movie that thinks it's being a lot clever than it actually is.

So much of the humor falls flat. Lemon and Tangerine were insufferably unfunny.

The writing was also really bad. All of the plot points they set up were so contrived and didn't pay off in any satisfying way. I kept waiting for something to connect and give the story some kind of meaning, but it's all just empty diversion.

Also, I'm not sure why this was even on a bullet train aside from the inherent cool factor. They could have easily set this movie anywhere else and it would have worked the same, they didn't even make use of the setting.

Setting it on a moving train automatically limits the options of escape as well as who can get on. That can only happen at stops, and even the stops were added into the plot line with Ladybug being unable to escape, trying to trick the assassins at the various stops, etc.

The train's specific setting was used when they incorporated the dining car fight and the various props that would be found there. Also when they were in the Quiet Car and had to keep their conversation and fighting to a minimum. Having been in Quiet Cars, there are absolutely passengers who will call you out if you make too much noise.

It's been a couple months since I've seen it so I can't recall any more examples right now.

Bullet Train is such Reddit rand0m humour, could’ve been great but undermined by its own sense of humour.

“The adult man likes the children’s thing” is a totally dead joke now

It was an ok “turn off your brain” movie. The plot made no sense. It reminded me a lot of smokin’ aces.

It certainly wasn't as terrible as the reviews made it out to be. It also wasn't "great" and, at times, it felt like a movie that would have been made in the mid to late 90s - early 2000s post-Pulp Fiction hitman boom.

The action was well-directed, but it was underwritten overall.

I didn't root for any of the characters, as they all seemed interchangeable. In fact, I only really pulled for Brad Pitt because he was Brad Pitt. Put him in any of the other hitman roles and I may have felt the same.

But other than that, it was a cool movie.

So much fun! I’d see it again and I almost never feel that way after seeing a movie.

>!Bringing Lemon back from the dead was the stupidest decision that movie could have made, because it ruined the emotional scene of Tangerine grieving, and it annoyed me because Tangerine literally could have checked Lemon’s wounds or pulse and he would have seen he was still alive or wearing a bullet proof vest. And then for Tangerine to die by accident and then at least have the comfort of being able to be at peace with his brother, but than said brother coming back to life and taking that tiny bit of happiness away?! Damn, that was disappointing and depressing. Not enough to ruin the movie while I was watching by any means, but enough to make me very annoyed once I thought about it when I got home.!<

I mean I didn't take anything too seriously....because it's literally a comedy movie, but now that I think about it.....

Thing is he never even died, fell asleep and was wearing a vest, could have checked for a pulse or something
