Smorgasburg 2023 Opening?

Has anyone heard anything about Smorgasburg or Smorgasbar opening again this spring? I can't find anything online and it seems like the Smorgasburg account is avoiding questions about JC within their IG comments.

It should be soon? They opened 7 days a week on April 29 last year but they must have been open at least a week before on weekends because I went for my birthday on April 23 last year

just looked at their ig page, oh no, it seems like it’s not coming back.. but since they’re not saying it, maybe they’re still working it out

I did run by the area and there’s a bit of construction happening there, so maybe that may be delaying things. here’s hoping

Not sure about Smorgasburg, but I asked the Smorgasbar bartender this question a year and a half ago about the 2022 opening.

Their answer was:

  • Smorgasburg and Smorgasbar are separate. They make decisions independently and are managed by different people.
  • They said Smorgasbar reopens "once the weather gets good" and will stay open throughout fall until people stop coming.

This could have changed though, and maybe that guy didn't know what he was talking about

There is nothing up on the website about the JC location, while the other three locations’ dates have been announced. They might be deciding if JC is worth the squeeze. The fact they are avoiding answering people’s questions on Insta suggests they are still figuring out if it’s a yes or no this year.

The parking lot that they used last year now hold construction equipment for the construction they are doing in the light rail close to Harborside. This could be the reason they might not return this year

They’re not returning to JC but the Jersey City Night Market is retuning to the City Hall location on April 1, 3-9pm. Jcnightmarket.com and @jcnightmarket on IG
