It would not have helped when the poisoning failed he was shot dead

Oh right, I had forgotten about that. Didn't they give him like 3 lethal doses of cyanide and panic shot him in the head? Perhaps the garlic worked too well.

Something worked for him even the bullet had trouble killing him

IIRC they also tried to drown him in the river and he survived that too? Dude was on infinite health mode.

I also wondered at the use of the word, "just" in the title. It implies some common assumption that he survived many assassinations due to garlic, but that isn't alluded to in the article.
Verdict: bad title. The editor should be poisoned.

Unless he's still alive it doesn't count.

Interesting read, it appears that the lethality of cyanide intoxication is markedly reduced in rats that received garlic.

The title does make it sound like he went up against Dracula

Now we need a Rasputin: Vampire Hunter sequel to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

The movie did leave it open that others have taken part in such a thing, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it does come around.

I always assumed those incompetent aristocrats didn't know what they were doing when they were poisoning cakes etc.
Instead of admitting they were incompetent, they turned Rasputin into some kind of superhero who would could survive all their attacks.
Rear-gunner OP t1_iugph1n wrote
By this period, these aristocrats were no longer experienced in such matters
