It would be really great if AAA publishers took a hint from Capcom's behavior and started improving upon all of the best games that are too old to play anymore. I'm looking at you Nintendo... The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - A Link to the Future

Remake the games that have really shoddy controls or aren't available on modern consoles, maybe, but honestly I'd prefer new IP or new games within the IP.

Fallout, and Dragon Age both are a long time from next game; quality current gen versions would do much to add more fans and satisfy the fan base.

Make money and fight pressure to release unfinished project. Win Win!

Dreadwolf has been in development for a minute. A 2023 release won't happen but 2024 wouldn't be completely out of the picture.

You can play OoT right now with the 64 access on Switch.

Games where a remake actually makes sense would be say MGS1-3, where there doesnt exist a modern platform to legally play them in any respectable way.

RE4 is available on everything and it still badly needed a remake. OoT would be a gold mine for Nintendo. First-gen Pokémon would be a big hit too. Personally, in this vein, I’d love to see a complete remake of the original Super Mario Bros.

First gen didn't get just one remake already but two...

First Gen exists if you own a Switch. I think its called Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee. I remember everything from the dark cave, to Saffron City rocket base, the elite four, and Mewtwo. Unfortunately misses the Safari Zone and the gambling den. Original SMB is remade in one of the Mario Makers I think.

We are clearly not of the same generation. Those games do not even come close to red and blue. …and I don’t mean a reskin. I mean a full on reimagining of the original nes game from the ground up to cater to a generation that hasn’t ever had the chance

IIRC new gambling laws have made the gambling den thing at the first Rocket base illegal in many countries as slot gaming is +18 only.

I'd sooner they just release the original GB clients in countries where it is legal and have them be as-is. If they did a full remake people would moan about all the grinding required to build a decent team--at least everyone did that for the first Switch gen (name slipping, one with the rich guy using legendary to power the country). Same with SMB. So much of the game relied on predicting enemy movement, your speed, and timing jumps. If ANY of that doesnt translate onto a new engine (which it likely won't perfectly), people would get mad.

More often than not remakes and remasters really compromise the original.

I’d love OoT to be refreshed & renewed every generation. It’s a game that deserves to be immortalised.

I want to see a legit remake of Goldeneye. Reloaded was just a re-skinned COD campaign. I try to go back and play the original now and then, but the single joystick is a real challenge once you're used to 2.

I prefer new IP. Remakes are cool for games that you can’t play on modern consoles but for games I could just boot up my Xbox for, it’s a waste of time.

Great Scott! Ocarina of Time don't really warrants a remake, maybe an HD versi...oh wait, that already happened.

One remake I would be interested on the other hand is Zelda 2 Adventure of Link
