Mary was always such a delight. She loved her customers and remembered sone she hadn’t seen in decades. Suan and Dan Dan noodles always hit the spot. Whenever I felt like something off of that list it was quick and inexpensive, no matter which of the random things on the huge menu I ordered.
After the first time I lived in Boston I would make detours on road trips that past anywhere near here just to stop there for Suan.
I hope she and her husband enjoy their retirement and someone in that kitchen takes the recipe for Suan elsewhere. No one else’s is like it.

Gonna miss Brato's grilled cheese flight. Losing the Dogwood in JP come January is going to suck too (especially considering the beating dining in JP has already taken).

Maybe not dining in JP, but I will never not miss the fireside.

Brato also had great wings that I believe were fried in duck fat. Very unique and flavorful

It's been a while since I was there, but I didn't realize Old Havana closed. :( They made the best Cuban sandwiches.

Losing Newtowne hurts. I'll never forget (remember?) the night my buddy texted me that they were pouring pints of Maine Lunch for $4.25. I've never high-tailed it somewhere as quickly as I did to Newtowne that magical Tuesday evening. Hope you're doing alright Freddy, you majestic cranky sunuvabitch.

Was Loyal Nine this year or last year? That was my favorite restaurant in the world. I wish I could go there again.

Validated by seeing Izzy’s and Casa B on that list.
Took many couple friends to Casa B to celebrate their engagements + will be missing their Union Dram.
Izzy’s was the only place I could get decent meat patties and empanadas north of the river for <$5. Definitely two big holes to fill…

Noooooo! When I worked at Kendal it was the best. But the family started spending more and more time in PR, so good luck and I hope they have a fantastic retirement. Now I hit up el coqi in Leominster.

I read somewhere that Newtowne Pizza in Cambridge had some of the best pizza in Cambridge. So I went there within 2-3 years ago, and it was AWFUL. It was quite greasy and uninspired.
