This might be too niche, but I'm a muralist living in Baltimore, and me and my business partner have been looking for a good studio space for a few months now. We're most interested in Crown Industrial, but aren't having any luck hearing back from them. I know the Copycat could be an option (used to live there), but they've gotten so much more expensive and the facilities aren't the best - their "available studios" page also hasn't been updated in something like 6 months. Mill Centre studios would be the most convenient, but also haven't heard back from them. The Fox building is stupid expensive for the square footage they offer you. Any suggestions for other places to look?? TIA

I dunno how long it's been since you lived in the Copycat, but take it off your list. During the pandemic it was discovered that Charlie doesn't have a rental license and can't legally collect rent. The building is mostly empty now and is even more of a clusterfuck than it used to be, which is really saying something.

I took a tour of the Bromo Seltzer Tower and they said they rent art studios. Looks like they advertise 30 spaces on their website.

Looks like they have some nice spaces, but I think their largest studio would be just about big enough to only store our supplies haha

^^^ They have some pretty sizable studios and an elevator makes them much more convenient/accessible

You might have some luck inquiring about space in the 4000 Buena Vista Avenue building in Medfield/Hampden. I have a woodshop there, and there is a lot of unused space that the owner is eager to fill.

Nelson Kohl apartment complex and the City Arts apartments 1 & 2 are artists specific housing in order rent rent you have to show proof of portfolio and rent is based of your work (or something to that effect). They’re in Station north/greenmount west. There’s several other artist designated apartment complexes in the certified “art districts” I believe the Bromo Tower apartments are also.

Solid recs, but we're more looking for just a work space, not a living space

I have a studio space at Crown Industrial. I like it, but their management definitely isn't the most responsive . If you're interested, I'd recommend just going there and seeing if you can catch someone in the office.

I know a couple people who have spaces in Mill Centre. Maybe give them another shot now that the holiday is over?

What size space are you looking for? I have a warehouse with available space in Better Waverly with its own entrance, very large windows, and it’s own plumbing.

Check out the spaces at 1100 Wicomico (Pigtown)! I love my workshop/studio there, and it’s an awesome building with so many vibrant tenants!
