Visiting for a few days and looking for some classic Baltimore seafood spots. Crab soup? Whole fried lake trout or catfish? Raw oysters? Help me.

This times 1000000, lp steamers or Nick's fish house are the go to places.
I'm listening
Nicks fish house, jimmys famous seafood just to name a few. LP steamers or Thames street oyster house for oysters.
LP Steamers keeps coming up when I ask folks, so have to check it out
I adore LP Steamers because it is NOT fancy. It is NOT touristy. It is small. It is simple. If there isn't a table available, you wait. Menu, order, eat, leave. Bags of chips. Plastic cups of beer. Softshell crab sandwiches on white brad with lettuce tomato and Mayo. Heaven.
Check out Barracudas in Locust Point for a non traditional crab cake, the blackened CC po’boy is amazing.
Jimmys famous seafood exploits migrant workers and minors for their prep and lower positions. was bad then and is just as bad now, hate to hear people still supporting them so heavily
The lobster roll at Thames Street Oyster House is literally perfect
Faidleys in Lexington market
Been to the market one time, will check it out!
Brand new! Whole market just re-opened in a new construction right next to the old building
Faidleys does not move until next year. Also the new market is in soft opening, so only limited vendors are open.
Thanks I did read something about that online so I will have to check it out next time
Nothing outstanding in the immediate Inner Harbor area- best bet would be go to LP Steamers in Locus Point- can walk from Inner Harbor or ride the Banner Circulator. Nicks Fish House is also a short Uber ride away.
got it

No good seafood in the inner harbor. Try LP Steamers, Jimmy’s Seafood, or Thames Street Oyster House.
awesome
I forgot to mention Sal’s Seafood in Fells Point. They have excellent fried seafood. Also Lexington Market if you want the real deal lake trout experience.
I heard Lexington Market was recently re-opened but food stalls might be limited, but that's the kind of stuff I was looking for, nothing too fancy
There are other markets like it, not as big, but still worth going to. The place I mentioned Sals is located inside the Broadway Market in Fells Point. The other joint is in Federal Hill and it’s called Cross Street Market.
I've enjoyed The Water St Tavern, tho it's not particularly big on seafood, it's a fine crab cake.
Wife and I went to Local Oyster right near the BMI. Really, really tasty oysters. I had fried sampler and enjoyed it. Defo going back.
Thanks. I wanted to get this real advice before i told the room I am a Steelers fan so you don't all haze me and send me to the worst place.
I’m a bengals fan, so wait a sec…I’ll give you one that’s not good. Just kidding! Enjoy Baltimore!
I'm a thames street oyster house enjoyed but that's because I love the soft shell crab sandwich
Maryland crab soup or the cream-type chowder type of crab soup? MD crab soup is a tomato-vegetable broth base, a bit of spice (and sometimes, short rib). The best version in the city is Faidley's at Lexington.
Uber ride to Thames
LP steamers
OR, best classic (not fancy) seafood in Baltimore in general?
Koko's Pub for Crab Cakes, Faidley's for an old Baltimore staple style of crab cakes, LP steamers for crabs, steamed shrimp, or soft shell sandwiches, The Penny Black for mussels.
Anyplace that has Rockfish or Snakehead on the menu probably does it decently, but I can't think of anyone that consistently gets those in (Myth and Moonshine used to be my go to, but they have since closed).

Drive outside of the city.

Anywhere that isn’t the inner harbor.
