How does skiing help with the restrooms closing at 3?

You probably can find a spot up in the mountains lol

Those weren’t related, just two different things.

I had no idea there's a ski lift anywhere near Shuksan, or is this a weird perspective thing from Mt Baker?

The Mt Baker Ski area really is kind of a misnomer because it's like 15-20 miles from Mt Baker summit. If you look at a map, Shuksan is much closer to the ski area than Mt Baker is.

Yes, these are the ski lifts at baker.

great shot! I need to get up there. You can still drive all the way to artist point?

Thanks! The Artist Point road and parking lot isn’t plowed, but you can drive up to where the entrance to it is and park there. That was shot from near the ski school and cafe building.
I had hoped to try and find a trail up to the top of table mountain I could hike, but that wasn’t happening. My second choice was taking the expert chair lift (or snowshoe) near the cafe to the top of the ridge, but the lift was shut down by the time I made it there.
The red marker is where I was and can be driven to easily:

This is the view from table mountain where I had planned on going:

During the winter the road to artists point closes just past Heather Meadows. There is a large trailhead parking lot just past there for winter use. It’s a popular backcountry skiing starting point (I was up there last week).
If you don’t have any experience with snow travel it’s probably a good idea to find a group to go with. It is the backcountry and avalanches can happen, so you should know basic avalanche safety and carry a beacon and rescue kit and go with a partner, or find a group that will take you up.

Awesome shot! Those are some massive cornices on hell's highway.

Good: not much of a crowd, roads were well plowed and easy to drive, no traffic.
Bad: apparently they start locking the restrooms at 3:00 now. I really need to learn how to ski.
