Interesting thought! I think it's also interesting to consider that the volume of our thoughts can be affected by our emotional state. For example, when we're feeling frustrated or angry, our internal dialogue can be much louder than when we're feeling calm and relaxed.

The same external volume maybe but not internally. Internally screaming at some idiot who cut you off is louder in thought than offering someone some free real estate
