I'm thinking about checking out the new Pawtucket/Central Falls train station later this week to go into Boston. The 7:46 train looks like a good option -- but am I going to get parking? Seems like the lot might fill up early.

Also, how creepy is it going to be if I get back late?

There’s still plenty of parking available for that train. Lot has not filled up once yet (ridership is def popular and increasing, though). And no not creepy at all. They have tons of temp lighting and installing the permanent lighting. It’s wide open and well lit in my opinion. Parking closer to the entrance may be less creepy but the far side of the lot isn’t bad at all.

Now please delete this post so the best kept secret of the Boston commute doesn’t explode. The parking is so nice right now lol.

The funny thing is I live near TF Green but have generally found it's a better idea to drive to a station further north. Saves time and money, in this case including parking costs.

That’s funny there’s someone I work with that lives closer to you but she’s been coming up to Pawtucket, too. It’s a really nice option!

I usually go out of wickford. Free parking and covered garage. But not that many trains to and from

I've never been able to justify Wickford. Just too long a trip into Boston.

I used to drive from URI to Attleboro, but when they opened up Wickford I couldn’t resist the free parking. Also I was poor.

Lol went for the first time in a while a few weeks ago and was wondering if I should give this a shot but as always was running late and went for the sure thing.

Idk why I can’t let this go but I’m calling bullshit on this. You’re telling us there’s been a day so far where there was not 1 single spot?! When? I commute daily and have yet to see it full without a spot yet.

Can't speak to the parking because I've only parked there in the evening to go into Boston for a show but it was not creepy at all. They had floodlights and even though it was almost midnight, I felt perfectly safe.

Parking fills up by the 8:21 train to south station. But, you can always use the overflow parking like a block away on Pine St (just don’t tell everybody about it).

(You are legally allowed to use the overflow parking but nobody does and I don’t want them to find out.)

Last week, I think it was Wednesday, I arrived at 7:41 and the lot was full. About 6 cars including myself had to circle the lot and exit and head north to attleboro which was only possible because the train was 15 mins late that day. Mondays and Fridays are probably fine but the early bird gets the space midweek! I think i read that they have the capacity to expand another 200 spaces. They might need to do that sooner than they thought.

The Pawtucket/Central Falls station is already incredibly popular. I believe this is due in part because the MBTA is dragging its feet on reconstructing the closed South Attleboro station which has led to many Attleboro/Seekonk-area commuters to use either downtown Attleboro or P/CF stations. The T really needs to fund the South Attleboro station rebuild to relieve future crowding and congestion at P/CF

Our train infrastructure is a fucking joke. If you're lucky and you're white collar and wanting to commute, it can be doable, but if you're blue collar and need to be on a site at 7am, you're fucked, peasant.
