Why you hate Muse if you hate Muse and why you love Muse if you love Muse? It’s for the progression F sharp major F sharp minor, for the falsetto or else? For the basslines? The live shows?

They are absolutely fantastic and as soon as I get paid I'm going to see if I can't get a ticket to see them on tour with Royal Blood because it seems like the perfect show on paper. I think they are fantastic because even though I think about 40% of their discography is at best naf and worst unlistenable they will continue to experiment and make the music they want to make and I can't help but respect them for that.
Muse are my ex wife’s favourite band so I genuinely cannot enjoy them any more
I don't hate them. They've just been boring since post-Absolution. They were fantastic live in 2006 though.
Yeah I was onboard right up until Black Holes. Origin of Symmetry and Absolution were very good. After that it just became too dramatic..theatrical..over the top.
Most people don't spend their time thinking about a group of musicians enough for emotions like love and hate. Most people have better shit to do with their lives.
Then they're listening to the wrong musicians or they don't love music. IMO, my favourite musicians contribute so much to my life that they have earned love.
Sorry, I'm a musician, I grew up in a family of musicians, music is as much a part of my life as breathing, I wouldn't want to do the second if I couldn't do the first. All that being said, it's a huge jump to go from that to hating a band because of their music. I may dislike the music, I may not listen. I damn sure ain't wasting my time on hate, nor am I interested in spreading that hate to others. It's a waste of time and effort that could be better spent finding something one enjoys instead.
LOL. I'm a musician too and have been playing since the 1970s. TBH, I don't think being musicians entitles us to judge whether other people's life priorities preclude their having a strong emotional response to music.
What really puzzles me is that you responded to my comment with a rant about not hating when the only emotion my comment addressed was love.
Funny old world...
There is, again, a big difference between having a strong emotional response to music, and translating that to an emotional response to the person or people who made that music.
And I addressed hate because it's a far more important idea to understand negativity and why it occurs, in my opinion. Actual love (non possessive, freely given, etc) is positive in all forms. But love of a person because of a sound they created is the other side of the coin. I addressed the side that I feel is more important, not hating someone because of a sound they created, as hate isn't healthy in any form.
Edit - and you haven't seen me rant lol. That was a single paragraph.
Meh... Muse are ok.
A bit overplayed. Maybe they were on a guitar hero game or something. I really don't hate them, though.
I saw them live in Detroit and I almost peed my pants they were that good. The entire show was so amazing I didn’t want to leave my seat. Such an awesome show and talented band.
I like Muse but I don’t love them. I enjoy their music but I completely understand why people don’t like them and in some cases can’t stand them.
Their style is very unique in the sense not many bands were doing prog/space rock in mainstream rock at the time so since they brought something different to the table they got popular super fast and when that happens a lot of people get burned out fast. Also their style isn’t the most beloved style of rock by any stretch so I totally understand the reasons of people who don’t like them.
I like them a lot, mostly for their experimentation and just overall weirdness. I think all of the members are really good musicians, and they're one of the most entertaining live acts I've seen. I can't say I like every single song by them, but I think that's due to their greatest strength - writing a wide variety of music and never making the same album twice.

I don't hate muse but I can't say I vibe with their style. I think hating music is silly to be honest, there's a time and a place for every song.
