Like the title says, I'm looking for songs that start off slow and continue to build throughout to an incredible crescendo. I really enjoy songs like EOB - Brasil, and Phoenix - Love like a Sunset pt 1, as well as many LCD Soundsystem songs that have great transitions / buildups. I’m open to any and all recommendation you might have!

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who gave recommendations. Still working my way through them, but man you all killed it! Going to have a phenomenal playlist after this.

most great radiohead songs—how to disappear completely, all i need, paranoid android, street spirit, tinker tailor, let down, weird fishes, lucky, ful stop

alternatively, lana del rey (more conventional structures but amazing peaks)—old money, shades of cool, living legend, if you lie down with me, off to the races, heroin

yes i have a type

The Receiving End of Sirens. - All of their songs were like rock anthem/operas. I recently learned that this was the initial band that later became The Dear Hunter.

Yes to all of this - you nailed it! Brothers in Arms is a great call. Telegraph Road is another one that builds and builds for like 11 minutes and then Knopfler just lays into the guitar at the end. Probably my favorite solo from him.

Son Lux - Stand

You start getting used to Lott's rhythmic psalm-like chant, the soft keys and the gradual addition of new sonic layers. An uncertainty creeps up on you as the song is reduced to a low warble. Then it slams you in the face with a deafening wall of glitched frantic drum beats, high-pitched operatic singing, and melodies that threaten to drown the singer out. The storm does pass, only to return again later, but Lott continues his chant, never wavering.
