I'm told that three local Eggspectations, including the one in Ellicott City, are closing, renovating, and rebranding. Does anybody have the inside scoop?

I’m sorry that’s a BAD thing?
If I'm trying to get brunch? Yes
Are you the person that scowls at people going to TGI Fridays on a Monday?
There's no good day to be at a Fridays
Yes, they'll be called JAM after the renovation and will reopen in March. Some menu changes and probably a decor refresh. They're apparently breaking away from the Canadian restaurants.
ETA: I heard it was just the Ellicott City location that's rebranding.
We stopped going to Eggspectations, theres so many better places around for brunch that we like better. And cheaper too. In fact “Cheaper than Eggspectations” is kind of a saying in our family when we go out to eat.
What you mean you don't like waiting for 3 hours for brunch? /s
Yes, its also noisy at least the EC one is. Hopefully the remodel will fix that. I found the food always pretty good there - but haven't been in awhile.
The location in Owings Mills is staying as Eggspectations.
My understanding is that the owners of the Ellicott City one was tired of paying the franchise fees, so broke away from Eggspectations. Have heard, but cannot confirm, a very heavy breakfast-focused menu as opposed to the extensive, all-day, menu that was there. If true, pretty disappointing to me, but I look forward to seeing what they have when they open.
Interesting. In EC at least they seem to do great business. Given that we don’t have things like Miss Shirley’s or Atwater’s out in the Columbia area, they’ve been at least a solid option for breakfast and lunch.
Our family liked Eggspectations when we lived in Ellicott City, but they always had OAN playing in the bar when we went which was kind of a weird vibe. We live in Urbana now, but we'll probably check it out after they reopen out of curiosity.
Dear new place: Add scrapple to your menu.
Actually, name your place "Scrapples" and watch the money roll in.
The one in Gambrills at Waugh Chapel has been open not much more than a year, I think. And a new one is scheduled to be in the Beacon Square mixed use development currently under construction on Riva Road in Annapolis.
Anyone know what happens to gift cards?
They just opened one in Baltimore within the last 2 months or so? That will rebrand already?
I didn't say "all of them."

I'm glad because that name is horrible. It sounds like the name of a fake fertility clinic in the Bob's Burgers opening sequence.
