I’m looking to buy a Bluetooth receiver to connect my phone to garage speaker system.

Given that it’s an uninsulated / unheated garage I want to buy a well made one that lasts. Don’t expect anybody to have a review on this specific piece, but recommendations on brands that build good electronics would be really appreciated.

This is going to be a tough one. I tried a bunch of them a decade back and they all sucked and failed shortly. If anyone has a modern recommendation I’ll try it.

Well, given that i just recommended a seemingly unkillable bluetooth speaker from them, logitech seems to have their stuff together.

Already have the stereo system, it also has tape player, CD player and record player with decent collection. Having multiple speakers is nice in a large shop.

What’s the basis of your recommendation?

It’s a fairly simple piece of tech that is mostly made by OEMs. But really it depends on your use case and what kind of outputs / codecs you need.

If you’re looking for more higher end “audiophile” type stuff, look into the iFi Zen Blue V2. Streams AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, LDAC, HWA codecs over bluetooth 5.0.

Or Audioengine B1

I bought a Soundbot SB360 Bluetooth car kit in 2016 on amazon, and it's still working perfectly well to this day. It worked so well, bought my wife one as well, they both are perfectly fine today even with daily use

I live in Arizona, so it's tested through and through with extreme heat. Not too sure about extreme cold, though.

It is powered via USB, and plugs into a jack, might be perfect for your needs.

I connected a Chromecast to an old receiver on like “phono” or “tape 2” and cast from my phone to it all the time. Maybe that’s an option.

JBL flip 6… I have a JBL flip 4 also… both are good. I use them in the shower.
