In helping my Mother downsize, she gifted me my late grandfather's 1936 Gilette Z1 (at least that's what I think it is based on online comparison and codes). Can someone please recommend where to buy blades for it? Also, any suggestions as to type or thickness of blades? This would be primarily for legs and armpits if that matters.

Literally any "double edge razor blades" meant for shaving will fit. I use Shark blades or 7AM - they run ~$20 for 100, and a 100pack lasts me 4ish years.

Look at Maggard Razors' website, or just Google search double edge blade samplers

I buy them on Amazon. I like Derby blades. Astra and Dorco are good too. You can get 100 blades for about $6-8. Feather blades are top of the line I think, more expensive. Feathers are ssshhharp.

Standard double edged safety razor blades. I’m partial to Feather blades myself, but there are other companies still making them- including Gillette. I get ‘em from Amazon, usually.

-edit- haven’t bought them in a while. Not sure what I paid last time, but I know it wasn’t forty bucks for 100. Maybe I’m not as partial as all that.

I use one almost identical to that that I inherited from my dad. You can pick safety razor blades up at pretty much any decent drug store or Safeway, or whatever.

Go on Amazon and grab a Double Edge Razor blade sample pack. All razor blades are razor shape but some more than others and its trial and error to find one that works well with your razor, skin, and hair

Dollar general, dollar stores seem to always have them. More expensive stores don't carry them.
