I'm grateful for you and your browsing through my profile. :) I've lived in New York and Boston for a bit and it made me very homesick...

It truly is an amazing hike. There are brown trout in the lake that we've caught before, we would hike in with our float tubes on your backs with our fly rods attached, there is also the western side path that is beautiful and easier.

I fly my drone up here too and can see Rainer and Adams from some amazing spots, and Hood. Very happy that you were able to take those trips, I didn't have a timeframe on my return so I spent time walking around and watching the clouds move today.

It really is, I forget too, I stopped at Wanapum North Launch site on the way back and took a nice shot and collected some driftwood, a completely different landscape just 50 miles away to the North. WA-241S is an amazing drive through some of the most beautiful ranchland I've seen, besides the Palouse and around Steptoe. We drive Snoquailmie often to go to the west side to visit family and hit the coast, it's surreal how incredible the topography is in this state within a few hours drive.

That's an amazing story, thank you for sharing it with us. Our family planted 40 acres of orchard and we lost it decades ago. Trees are so vitally important.
